Depoldermolen is a cooperative initiative that allows residents and businesses in specific postcodes (1761, 1766, 1771, 1774, 1775, 1777, 1778) to collectively own and invest in wind turbines. Members can purchase energy allowances (kavels) and receive exemptions from energy tax for 15 years. Annual participation costs €80 per 1000 kWh, offset by tax relief of €119.30, yielding net savings of €39.30 annually. Members can also prepay annual fees for additional returns. The cooperative distributes financial benefits to local residents, businesses, associations, and community organizations within the Wieringermeer region.
