About

Djewels is a renewable energy company headquartered in Delfzijl, Netherlands specializing in Hydrogen.

Djewels is a flagship green hydrogen project developed by HyCC in cooperation with McPhy, Technip Energies, Gasunie, OCI Methanol Europe, DeNora, and Hinicio. Located at Chemiepark Delfzijl in the Netherlands, it features a 20 MW pressurised alkaline electrolyser using McPhy's Augmented McLyzer technology with higher current density. The plant converts water and renewable electricity into up to 3,000 tons of green hydrogen per year. The hydrogen is combined with CO2 to produce renewable methanol for transport, aviation, maritime, and chemical industry applications. The project brings the technology from TRL 7 to TRL 8 and lays foundations for scaling up to 100 MW. It received environmental and construction permits from Provincial authorities and funding from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership under the EU's Horizon 2020 programme, as well as support from the Dutch Waddenfonds and Ministry of Economic Affairs.
