About
Ecolefins is a renewable energy company headquartered in Thessaloniki, Greece specializing in Hydrogen, Other.
Ecolefins is a collaborative research initiative funded by the European Union (grant agreement No 101099717) and UK Research and Innovation. The project develops co-ionic ceramic membrane reactors that combine steam electrolysis for hydrogen production with CO2 electrolysis and hydrogenation to produce light olefins through renewable energy-powered artificial photosynthesis. The technology aims to achieve 15% energy efficiency at atmospheric pressure, substantially reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared to conventional thermocatalytic processes. The project involves multiple work packages covering electrode catalyst development, ceramic electrolyte research, reactor validation, techno-economic analysis, and market exploitation. Consortium partners include universities, research centers, and companies from across Europe.
