Founded in 2013, Ecostroom is a co-op headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands with approximately 10-50 employees specializing in Solar.

Ecostroom is an energy cooperative founded in 2013 that democratizes renewable energy generation through community solar projects. The organization operates as a collective of citizens and entrepreneurs who jointly own and operate solar panel installations on large rooftops throughout Amsterdam and the surrounding region. Members can participate through neighborhood projects using the Dutch Postcode Roof regulation or investment projects under the SDE+ subsidy scheme. Ecostroom manages the entire project lifecycle including site identification, installation, and operation. The cooperative also provides tailored energy performance advisory services for individual homeowners, housing associations (VvEs), and businesses to improve building sustainability. A Virtual Power Plant initiative allows members to monetize energy flexibility by managing consumption patterns. With over 15,000 installed panels across more than 30 projects and 2,000+ members, Ecostroom has become a significant player in distributed renewable energy generation in the Amsterdam region.
