Eda Energiewirtschaftlicher Datenaustausch GmbH is the common service provider for all Austrian transmission and distribution network operators for gas and electricity. Founded in 2012, it provides a unified technology platform for standardized data exchange among all energy market participants. The platform supports multiple connection methods including email-based interfaces for lower-frequency exchanges and communication endpoints for high-volume data exchange. It facilitates participation by electricity and gas suppliers, network operators, energy service providers, and energy communities. The infrastructure operates using ebXML and AS4 communication protocols and complies with EU energy regulations including the Clean Energy Package and interoperability directives. Eda also participates in INSIEME, a European consortium project promoting decentralized data infrastructure and cross-border energy market integration.
