About
Founded in 2019, Elnett21 is a co-op headquartered in Stavanger, Norway specializing in Solar, Energy Storage.
Elnett21 is a five-year collaborative demonstration project (2019-2024) funded by Enova with 40 million NOK. The project develops and implements comprehensive solutions for electrifying transport across aviation, maritime, and road sectors in the Stavanger region. Key components include: a centralized control system to forecast and manage electrical loads; optimization of local energy production and storage; smart demand-side management aligned with available grid capacity; development of business models for energy trading and grid flexibility; installation of solar panels (10,000 m² at Stavanger Airport Sola, 3,000 m² at Tvedtsenteret, 1,000 m² at Risavika port terminal); battery storage systems (600 kWh at airport, 500 kWh planned); district heating/cooling integration; and microgrids for industrial parks. The consortium includes major regional stakeholders and demonstrates how distributed energy systems, local production, and collaborative resource management can support the transition to zero-emission transport without overloading existing grids.
