ENDURE is a Clean Hydrogen Partnership funded research and innovation initiative focused on enhancing alkaline water electrolysis technology. The consortium comprises research centers, companies, and academic institutions working to develop hierarchically structured 3D porous transport electrodes that improve electrochemical kinetics and mass transport. Key objectives include reducing degradation rates, increasing current density and efficiency, replacing platinum-group metals with sustainable materials, and developing accelerated stress testing protocols. The project integrates innovations into functional electrolyser stacks, with a 1000 cm² prototype incorporating advanced flow field optimization. Through computational fluid dynamics modeling and real-world durability testing, ENDURE aims to deliver cost-effective, high-performing solutions for scaling green hydrogen production from laboratory to industrial applications.
