About
Founded in 2021, EU-MORE is a ngo specializing in Other.
EU-MORE (EUropean MOtor REnovation initiative) is a collaborative project co-funded by the European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency under the LIFE program. The initiative aims to accelerate the early replacement of old, inefficient electric motors in industry and the service sector across the EU. Electric motors represent approximately 53% of electricity consumption in industry within the EU-27 and over a significant portion of tertiary sector electricity use. The project coordinates multiple European research institutions and organizations to develop policies for increasing motor renovation rates, create impact assessment tools, promote circular economy practices in motor recycling, and facilitate stakeholder dialogue. Key activities include analyzing past policy experiences, identifying barriers to motor replacement, developing projection models, and ensuring that renovation programs incorporate energy-efficiency measures such as proper motor sizing, digitalization, and variable speed drives.
