EU-SCORES
European SCalable Offshore Renewable Energy Sources
The Hague, Netherlands
About
Founded in 2021, EU-SCORES is a ngo headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands specializing in Wind, Wave, Solar.
EU-SCORES is a €45 million Horizon 2020 research and innovation project launched in September 2021, aimed at developing scalable, multi-source offshore renewable energy parks. The project demonstrates the technical, financial, and regulatory feasibility of integrating offshore wind, wave energy, and floating solar photovoltaics into single energy generation systems. Key demonstrations include a 1.2 MW wave energy array (4 CorPower Ocean C4 converters) at Aguçadoura, Portugal, and a 2.6 MW offshore solar system (Oceans of Energy NS3) at the Blue Accelerator test site in Belgium. The project conducts large-scale environmental monitoring, develops business cases for multiple regions, and provides policy recommendations. Multi-source parks are designed to improve marine space efficiency, balance electricity grids, reduce levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and support green hydrogen production.
