Floatfarm is a renewable energy company specializing in Wind.
FLOATFARM is a Horizon Europe-funded research initiative coordinated by Technische Universität Berlin's Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Technical Acoustics. The project brings together 17 partners across 8 European countries to advance floating offshore wind (FOW) technology to the next level of industrial maturity. Key objectives include developing innovative FOWT concepts and methods, decreasing negative environmental impacts on marine life, enhancing public acceptability, and lowering the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). The project addresses critical areas such as aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, structural dynamics, underwater noise mitigation, environmental assessment, and social integration. With 34 planned deliverables and coordinated experimental testing at Centrale Nantes, FLOATFARM aims to support EU energy autonomy while advancing circular economy principles in offshore renewable deployment.
