Geo4civhic is a European research and innovation initiative focused on accelerating deployment of shallow geothermal heating and cooling systems in retrofitted buildings. The project develops and demonstrates easier-to-install, more efficient ground source heat exchangers (GSHEs) using innovative compact drilling machines tailored for built environments. It advances hybrid heat pump solutions integrated with renewable energy sources through holistic engineering and controls approaches to improve return on investment. The consortium includes international experts from research centres and companies across Europe, with centers of excellence in Padua (Italy), Valencia (Spain), Nuremberg-Erlangen (Germany), and Oradea (Romania).
