About
Founded in 2017, Geopulse is a private headquartered in Toulouse, France specializing in Geothermal.
Geopulse is a deep geothermal exploration and development project located in Saint-Pierre-Roche, Puy-de-Dôme, in the Massif Central region of France. The project aims to construct a 5 MW geothermal power plant utilizing permeable fault systems in crystalline bedrock at depths of 3,000-3,600 meters. The project involves drilling two primary wells (with potential for two additional wells) to access naturally heated geothermal fluids. Hot water is pumped to the surface via one well where thermal energy is extracted through heat exchangers to generate electricity via turbine and alternator, with residual heat valorized locally. The cooled fluid is then reinjected into the same geological horizon through a second well, ensuring long-term sustainability. Geopulse is a 50-50 joint venture between TLS Geothermics and Storengy (a subsidiary of ENGIE with over 70 years of subsurface experience). The project emphasizes environmental safeguards including induced seismicity monitoring via seismometer networks, ecological impact mitigation, water quality surveillance, and consultation with local stakeholders. Operations are subject to French mining code regulations and oversight by state authorities including DREAL, INERIS, and the National Seismic Monitoring Network.
