GLocalFlex is a Horizon Europe research and demonstration project led by VTT (Teknologian Tutkimuskeskus) that aims to create an open, interoperable energy flexibility marketplace. The project develops automated, machine-to-machine flexibility trading mechanisms for local energy systems (LES) and positive energy districts. It demonstrates near real-time, large-scale flexibility trading across six heterogeneous pilot sites in Spain, France, Finland, Germany, Serbia, Czechia, Switzerland, and Sweden. The marketplace integrates renewable energy sources, demand-response solutions, and cross-sectoral energy management, enabling consumers, industries, appliances, and microgrids to participate in flexibility markets. The consortium comprises 23 organizations (17 partners and 6 associated partners) contributing expertise in energy flexibility technologies and solutions.
