About

Goliatvind is a private headquartered in Dublin, Ireland specializing in Wind.

Goliatvind is a collaborative floating offshore wind demonstration project located in the Barents Sea, approximately 85 km northwest of Hammerfest, Norway, at water depths of 300–400 meters. The consortium partners—Source Galileo Norge, Odfjell Oceanwind, Kansai Electric Power, and ENEOS Renewable Energy—are jointly developing the project to supply renewable power to the Goliat FPSO (floating production, storage, and offloading unit), which is currently powered by a 75 MW cable from shore. The project design features 5 floating wind turbines, each with 15 MW capacity, totaling 75 MW. The turbines will be mounted on Odfjell Oceanwind's Deepsea Star semi-submersible steel foundations. Each foundation is a triangle approximately 100 meters per side, equipped with buoyancy columns and secured by six anchors. Turbine tower heights range from 135–170 m with rotor diameters between 220–260 m. An internal subsea cable network will connect each turbine to a common substation, with an export cable linking to the Goliat platform. The project aims to demonstrate floating offshore wind technology's feasibility and is targeted for development as early as 2028. Environmental and site assessments are ongoing over a two-to-three-year development phase. Once complete, Source Galileo will submit a planning application to relevant authorities. The project is expected to generate approximately 300 GWh of renewable energy annually for the Finnmark region.
