About

H2 Ports is a government headquartered in Valencia, Spain specializing in Hydrogen.

H2 Ports is Europe's largest pilot project for hydrogen-powered port machinery, funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 programme under the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking. The project demonstrates and validates innovative fuel cell-based solutions for port operations at the Port of Valencia. Two main pilots are being tested: a hydrogen fuel cell reach stacker at MSC Terminal Valencia for container handling, and a hybrid electric-battery/hydrogen fuel cell yard tractor at Valencia Terminal Europa for ro-ro operations. A mobile hydrogen refueling station has been developed to supply both pieces of equipment. The project analyzes energy efficiency, performance, safety, regulatory requirements, and commercial viability of hydrogen adoption in port equipment, with testing conducted over two years of real operational activities.
