Founded in 2020, H2020 SUSTENANCE Project is a ngo headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark specializing in Solar, Biomass, Biogas.

The H2020 SUSTENANCE project applies a holistic system approach to harmonize operation of heterogeneous energy carriers and infrastructures in integrated community energy systems. It develops cost-effective, sustainable solutions integrating different energy vectors including solar PV, biomass, biogas, energy storage, and electric mobility. The project establishes demonstration activities in Denmark (Voerladegård village), the Netherlands (flexible appliances and storage living labs), Poland (Sopot buildings), and India (three remote village sites). Led by Aalborg University with 21 partners from 3 EU countries and India, the project focuses on achieving energy autarky, decarbonized energy systems, system resilience, and socio-economic development in rural communities.
