About
Founded in 2020, H2020hydra is a renewable energy company headquartered in Norway specializing in Energy Storage.
HYDRA (HYbriD power-energy electRodes for next generation lithium-ion bAtteries) is an international battery research and innovation project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program under grant agreement 875527. The project brings together leading industry and research partners to develop high-performance, sustainable lithium-ion cells that are safe, affordable, durable, and energy-dense. HYDRA targets Generation 3b Li-ion batteries using hybrid electrode materials, co-free architectures, and novel electrolyte formulations. The project addresses four key improvement areas: sustainability, materials development, manufacturing processes, and commercial implementation. Expected to support the growing European battery industry and electric vehicle market, projected to reach 130 GWh/year demand by 2025.
