HYDEA is a multi-partner European project aimed at accelerating the development and application of green hydrogen technologies as energy alternatives in ports and maritime fleets across the Atlantic area. The project focuses on hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources (including marine energy) with zero CO2 emissions. HYDEA addresses port decarbonization through six coordinated work packages: project coordination, communication and dissemination, capitalization and community building, scenario analysis and opportunity identification, case study and business model development, and technology demonstration pilots. The project develops individual action plans for participating ports and a roadmap for the Atlantic area, supported by technical assessments, decision-support tools, and a HYDEA community comprising stakeholders from the hydrogen value chain, academia, and public administration.
