Founded in 2023, Ibc4 is a ngo headquartered in Netherlands specializing in Solar.

Ibc4 (Ibc4eu) is a European research initiative coordinated by the European Rear Contact Alliance, funded under the Horizon Europe Programme (grant agreement No.101084259). The project develops cost-effective and sustainable bifacial IBC solar cell and module technology at pilot line level, targeting GW-scale mass production by 2030. It focuses on polyZEBRA and POLO IBC cell designs, utilizing existing production technology infrastructure. The project integrates RTD organizations and companies across the full value chain—ingot, wafer, cell, and module production—with emphasis on resource efficiency, reduced CO2 footprint, material conservation (particularly silicon metal and silver), and circular economy principles. Partners include TNO (interconnection technology and environmental assessment), Imec (3D multi-ribbon interconnection), and CEA (IBC solar cell performance improvements).
