Interstores is a renewable energy company specializing in Energy Storage, Geothermal, Biomass.

Interstores is an international innovation network focused on developing and demonstrating seasonal thermal energy storage (sTES) technologies. The project aims to advance cost-effective and environmentally efficient thermal energy storage solutions by reusing infrastructure and utilizing natural rock cavern formations. Two demonstration sites are under development: the Varanto VECTES Giga-CTES in Finland (projected capacity 90 GWh) and a site in Germany at the incampus R&D campus in Ingolstadt. The project brings together 14 partners from 9 countries, including research organizations and industrial partners in energy systems, geology, and materials. Core objectives include reducing investment costs, improving energy efficiency, decreasing CO2 emissions, and promoting circular economy principles through sustainable material reuse.
