About
Founded in 2015, Jupiter1000 is a private headquartered in Fos-sur-Mer, France specializing in Hydrogen, Energy Storage.
Jupiter1000 is an innovative industrial demonstrator project coordinated by GRTgaz and NaTran R&I, designed to transform surplus renewable electricity into green hydrogen and synthetic methane through Power-to-Gas technology. The facility incorporates two electrolysers using different technologies (PEM and alkaline), an innovative methanation unit, and a CO2 capture system sourcing emissions from nearby industrial facilities. The produced gas is injected into GRTgaz's gas transmission network. The project is located at the INNOVEX platform in Fos-sur-Mer, at the intersection of gas and electricity networks. Co-financed by the European Union (FEDER Fund), the French State (Investissements d'Avenir via ADEME), and the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur Region, Jupiter1000 was commissioned in 2020 and serves as a platform for hydrogen, CO2 valorization, and green fuel development.
