About

Founded in 2011, Kroningswind is a co-op headquartered in Goeree-Overflakkee, Netherlands specializing in Wind.

Kroningswind is a farmer-initiated wind park on Goeree-Overflakkee island in the Netherlands. Founded in 2011 by ten agricultural families, the project integrates wind energy development with agricultural preservation and nature conservation. The park features 19 wind turbines with a maximum height of 150 meters and a combined capacity of approximately 80 MW. Construction began in 2021, with the final turbine blade raised in July 2022 and official opening in November 2022. The park became operational in October 2022 and supplies clean electricity to around 65,000 households annually. In 2018, TINC acquired majority ownership, becoming 100% owner by June 2023. The cooperative contributes €0.50 per MWh generated to the Windfonds Goeree-Overflakkee, a community fund supporting local sustainability projects and ensuring residents benefit financially from the renewable energy production.
