About

Founded in 1960, Labellotta is a private headquartered in Venaria Reale, Italy specializing in Biogas, Biomass.

La Bellotta is a sustainable agricultural enterprise focused on energy independence and circular farming. Since 2010, it has operated a 1 MW biogas cogeneration facility powered by anaerobic digestion of on-site biomass and livestock manure. The plant produces approximately 8.5 million kWh of electricity annually fed to the national grid, equivalent to powering 10,000 households and avoiding approximately 4,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The farm generates around 15,000 tonnes per year of digestate, which replaces chemical fertilizers and is distributed through an underground pipe network. Additional features include a remote heating network utilizing thermal energy from the cogeneration engine, and testing of methane-powered tractors with significantly reduced emissions. The farm also manages 100 hectares of coppice woodland under a sustainable forestry plan approved by regional authorities.
