LibertéWatts is a French behavioral demand-response platform launched in late 2024 from Rennes. The application enables residential electricity consumers to participate voluntarily in consumption-shifting challenges coordinated with the national grid operator RTE. Users receive notifications when the grid experiences peak demand and are invited to reduce electricity consumption during specified time windows—by postponing appliances, lowering heating, or disconnecting standby devices. Successful demand reduction is detected via Linky smart meters and validated by comparison with consumption in adjacent 30-minute periods. Users accumulate points redeemable as euro transfers or partner discounts. The company aggregates user flexibility and participates in official energy balancing markets (NEBCO and AOFD mechanisms) via its partner Symphonics, earning revenue from RTE and commercial partners.
