About
Lilas4soils is a ngo specializing in Biomass.
Lilas4soils is a Horizon Europe research initiative coordinated by EIT Food South that engages agriculture stakeholders to co-create, implement, and validate carbon farming practices in real-world settings. The project focuses on 19 carbon farming practices divided into five categories and strategies, each contributing to increased carbon sequestration and reduced greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture and land use. Over five years, the project develops five Living Labs across six countries in the Mediterranean and Southern EU regions. The consortium includes 24 expert partners from various technical areas representing different stakeholders dedicated to advancing soil health. The project provides protocols for sampling and data collection, guidelines for soil sampling design, and field and laboratory protocols to measure soil properties and assess effects of carbon farming practices on soil organic carbon stocks and other soil health indicators. An open call seeks MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) providers to test innovative soil organic carbon monitoring solutions.
