Live TREE is a research and educational program launched in 2013 by the Catholic University of Lille as part of the broader eco-campus initiative. It functions as a full-scale living laboratory integrating engineering sciences with social and human sciences to address energy and societal challenges. The program operates approximately a dozen demonstrators across topics including energy, mobility, and urban nature. Key initiatives include renovation of buildings to reduce carbon footprint, deployment of 2100 m² of photovoltaic panels, experimentation with soft and electric mobility, responsible gardening, and waste management. Live TREE has received the EuraClimat label for emerging climate excellence from the European Metropolis of Lille. The program involves 145 participants from the university, staff, and residents in climate conventions and engages 25 economic and institutional partners.
