Lounapuisto is a circular economy hub located in Salo, Finland, offering a platform and network for multifaceted circular economy activities. The park hosts the Lounavoima Waste-to-Energy plant and the Hehku Visitor Centre. Key renewable energy initiatives include geothermal heat well storage (with six wells planned at the WtE plant), non-recoverable landfill gas conversion to biomethane, and biogas network development. The facility serves as a collaborative space for companies, educational institutions, research institutes, and other actors to develop innovative circular economy and sustainable energy solutions. Hehku provides visitor education on circular economy, recycling, waste reuse, and renewable energy production.
