About
LowTEMP is a ngo specializing in Geothermal, Solar, Other.
LowTEMP is an Interreg project involving 19 project partners from nine Baltic Sea Region countries working to make district heating systems more sustainable. The project focuses on promoting 4th generation low-temperature district heating networks that enable integration of renewable heat sources (geothermal, solar-thermal) and industrial waste heat. Key activities include developing a knowledge platform, assessing sustainability effects, analyzing business models and funding structures, creating training programs for stakeholders, and implementing pilot projects in municipalities. The project addresses the fact that heating and cooling account for over one-third of final energy consumption in Europe, with efficient low-temperature district heating technologies offering significant potential for energy efficiency improvements and CO2 emissions reduction.
