Founded in 2016, MARINERG-i is a ngo headquartered in Ringaskiddy, Ireland specializing in Wind, Wave, Tidal.
MARINERG-i is an integrated European Research Infrastructure in preparation phase, designed to facilitate the growth and development of the offshore renewable energy sector. It evolved from the successful MaRINET FP7 project, which united 45 infrastructures across 36 European research centres. The current MARINERG-i_PP preparatory phase (December 2023 – November 2026), funded by the EU Horizon Europe Infradev programme with €3 million budget and coordinated by MaREI Centre at University College Cork, involves 15 partners from 10 countries. The infrastructure aims to consolidate expertise, investment, and testing capabilities to foster innovation across offshore wind, wave, tidal, and combined energy technologies, maintaining Europe's global leadership in offshore renewable energy.
