The initiative focuses on developing sustainable energy transition pathways for maritime vessels through research in onboard energy systems, port infrastructure, business models, and policy frameworks. Research areas include reducing ship energy consumption, integrating new energy carriers onboard, enabling green energy supply in ports, and establishing sustainable transition pathways. The program utilizes world-leading research facilities in Trondheim for model-scale ship and energy system testing.
