Magyar Innováció és Hatékonyság Nonprofit NKft. (Mi6) is a key player in Hungary's green economic policy and strategy development since 2011. The organization operates the Virtual Power Plant Program (Virtuális Erőmű Program), an innovative platform that aggregates energy savings and emissions reductions across corporate, residential, municipal, and international sectors. Mi6 serves as the official Hungarian support organization for the Covenant of Mayors and specializes in developing Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAP) for municipalities. The organization provides energy efficiency surveys, CO2 emission audits, climate strategy development, and sustainability awareness campaigns. By 2018, the Virtual Power Plant Program achieved the status of Hungary's second-largest power plant equivalent. Mi6 has completed county-level climate strategies for multiple regions and has prepared over 70 SECAPs for municipalities and local action groups. The organization collaborates with the EU, UN, and international partners, leveraging a budget of approximately 500 million HUF from European Structural and Investment Funds.
