Muirgen Offshore Wind Farm is a large-scale renewable energy development in the Celtic Sea, off the southeast coast of Ireland, positioned entirely outside Ireland's 12 nautical mile foreshore limit. The project aims to deploy approximately 67 floating turbines with a total capacity of up to 1,000 MW. Located at average water depths of 76 meters, the site is strategically selected to minimize coastal visibility, reduce environmental impacts, and access stronger offshore wind resources. The project supports Ireland's Climate Action Plan and binding target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050. Source Galileo is managing stakeholder engagement, environmental surveys, and site assessments. A community benefit fund will support local economic, environmental, social, and cultural initiatives throughout the project's operational lifetime.
