Founded in 2017, Nanoe is a ngo headquartered in Ambanja, Madagascar specializing in Solar.

Nanoe operates a decentralized electrification model called 'lateral electrification' that combines renewable solar technology with information and communication technologies and local entrepreneurship. The core innovation consists of nano-grids—collective solar systems serving 4-6 households with mobile prepayment access to electricity services. Nanoe builds local capacity by supporting nano-entrepreneurs in grid construction and operation across multiple service domains including electricity, electronics, information systems, and telecommunications. As of the latest update, over 13,000 households benefit from Nanoe electrical services, with targets to install 1,000 additional nano-grids by 2026. The pilot project began in the Ambanja district of north-west Madagascar in 2017, where less than 5% of the population had electricity access.
