Founded in 2023, National Geothermal Centre is a ngo headquartered in Durham, United Kingdom specializing in Geothermal.

The National Geothermal Centre is an independent, not-for-profit organisation supported by Durham University, the Reece Foundation, The Net Zero Technology Centre, and Shift Geothermal. It operates as a national hub to disseminate geothermal expertise, knowledge, and best practice, acting as a conduit between industry and academia. The centre coordinates research, develops technical standards for the emerging geothermal sector, and works across all stakeholder groups to enable geothermal solutions for heat networks, construction, manufacturing, and agriculture. By 2050, NGC targets 10GW of installed geothermal heat and 1.5GW of geothermal electricity capacity, which would avoid 10 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually and create an estimated 50,000 direct jobs.
