NextETRUCK is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union's Horizon programme, focused on advancing zero-emission logistics through next-generation electric trucks. The project brings together research organizations, technology companies, vehicle manufacturers, and industry associations to develop medium-duty battery-electric trucks for peri-urban freight applications. Key activities include operating three pilot sites in Istanbul, London, and Barcelona; developing the KITE tool for total cost of ownership analysis and fleet electrification planning; and advancing battery thermal management and digital twin technologies. The project supports the EU's climate neutrality goals by addressing medium-duty truck emissions, which represent approximately 25% of transport sector CO2 emissions.
