1Stânca-Costești Hydroelectric Plant
Hydroelectric plant on the Prut River, built near Stânca (Botoșani County, Romania) and Costești (Republic of Moldova). Commissioned in 1978 for electricity generation and flood mitigation, with a reservoir storage capacity of 1.285 billion m³. The plant is the second largest on the Prut after Dubăsari and extends upstream to Viișoara over about 70 km.
