About
Founded in 2023, Oxhy is a renewable energy company headquartered in Napoli, Italy specializing in Solar, Other.
Oxhy is a Naples-based deeptech company founded in 2023 that develops energy harvesting technologies for distributed energy autonomy. Its core platform, the Oxhycell (oxhydroelectric cell), is a patented device that extracts electric current from water exposed to infrared radiation, based on the oxhydroelectric effect discovered in the context of quantum electrodynamics. The company also develops compact, modular Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems to recover energy from low and medium temperature waste heat, and has built in-house prototyping and testing infrastructure, including CNC machines and a multi-material 3D printer. Its OXHYcube demonstrator targets sensors, IoT and ultra-low-power electronics. In 2025 it opened an operational unit in Ceccano (Lazio) and completed the Smart&Start Italia programme.

3Tresol ORC integration with solar thermal field
Memorandum of Understanding to test integrating a compact ORC prototype with a solar thermal field at Tresol's Avellino plant, converting surplus heat into electricity. Preliminary, non-commercial research and feasibility work.
Origin (Organic Rankine Innovative Generator for Industrial Needs)
Experimental development programme for a compact, modular ORC system to recover energy from low and medium temperature waste heat. Selected under the STEP Lazio grant competition, with a total value of approximately 613,000.
OXHYcube
Modular demonstrator based on the Oxhycell that generates electricity from ambient infrared radiation and dispersed heat, used to showcase ultra-low-power IoT and sensing applications.
