R-aces is a European initiative that creates ecoregions where multiple stakeholders engage in energy cooperation by exchanging heat and cold streams, investing in renewable energy solutions, and managing energy flows through smart systems. The project supports high-potential industrial parks and clusters in their decarbonization efforts, focusing on waste heat recovery, district heating and cooling systems, and renewable energy integration. Key activities include developing toolkits for energy collaboration, identifying and supporting pilot ecoregions across Europe, and facilitating knowledge exchange between industrial facilities, universities, and research institutions to accelerate the transition to carbon neutrality.
