About

Recycalyse is a renewable energy company headquartered in Taastrup, Denmark specializing in Energy Storage, Hydrogen.

Recycalyse is a research and development project focused on disrupting the non-battery-based energy storage market. The project develops highly active sustainable oxygen evolution catalysts using abundant European elements while minimizing critical raw material use. A key innovation is an established recycling scheme for proton exchange membrane electrolyser catalysts, electrodes, and overall systems. The project aims to achieve 90% catalyst recycling and 75% recovery of electrical and electronic equipment waste. Technical objectives include 90% retention of initial catalytic activity after accelerated stress testing, at least 50g/h catalyst production capacity, and 60% efficiency operation in proton exchange membrane electrolyser systems. By recovering and reusing elements in newly developed catalysts, Recycalyse reduces European dependence on material imports while decreasing CO2 emissions and improving the competitiveness of energy conversion technologies.
