The Renewable Thermal Collaborative is a U.S.-headquartered, globally-focused nonprofit dedicated to decarbonizing industrial thermal energy use with renewable solutions. Established as an independent nonprofit in 2025 (originally organized in 2017), the RTC is the only global coalition focused exclusively on renewable thermal technologies. The organization convenes major industrial and institutional thermal energy users across food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, higher education, and other sectors, alongside renewable thermal solution providers including clean heat experts, technology developers, and financing specialists. RTC conducts educational workstreams on biomethane, electrification, geothermal, solar thermal, and thermal energy storage, while advancing policy advocacy to cut industrial thermal emissions by 30% by 2030 and achieve full decarbonization by 2050. The organization is facilitated by staff from the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, David Gardiner and Associates, and the World Wildlife Fund.
