Renplushomes is a European initiative focused on creating a universal methodology for designing positive energy homes (PEBs) and residential districts that generate more energy than they consume. The project addresses EU climate neutrality goals by demonstrating innovative solutions across four demo sites: renovation of student accommodations in Estonia and Romania, new construction in Spain and Austria. Key technologies include BIPV facade panels, geothermal systems, aerothermal heat pumps, hydrogen systems, and advanced AI-based load disaggregation. The project develops 23 solutions (9 hardware, 7 software, 7 methodologies) focused on renewable energy integration, circular materials, resource efficiency, and resident engagement. Methodologies are being tested in France, Greece, and internationally via PassivHaus standards. Goals include affordable, replicable technology packages for widespread PEB deployment and workforce training.
