RETE ASSIST is a nonprofit organization established to address energy poverty in Italy through comprehensive, participatory approaches. The organization was founded to consolidate work initiated under the European H2020-funded ASSIST project. It operates a network of trained Energy Tutors for Domestic Use (Tutori per l'Energia Domestica - TED), specialized professionals who provide vulnerable consumers with personalized support on energy consumption management, cost reduction, access to energy incentives, renewable energy communities participation, and complaint procedures. RETE ASSIST serves as a reference point for social organizations, municipalities, utilities, and other stakeholders engaged in promoting just energy transitions and combating energy poverty. Over 200 TEDs are actively operating across Italy. The organization provides training programs (ASSIST-TED course), maintains a digital academy platform, facilitates peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, and coordinates multi-stakeholder initiatives addressing the intersection of energy poverty and social equity.
