About

Founded in 2020, Revolution Wind is a private headquartered in New London, United States specializing in Wind.

Revolution Wind is a fully permitted, 704-megawatt offshore wind energy project located in federal waters approximately 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast and 32 miles southeast of the Connecticut coast. As a 50/50 joint venture between Global Infrastructure Partners/Skyborn Renewables and Ørsted, it is the first commercial-scale offshore wind project serving Rhode Island and Connecticut. The project began construction in 2023, achieved first power in March 2026, and is expected to be fully operational by end of 2026. Revolution Wind will generate enough electricity to power more than 350,000 homes and displace over one million metric tons of carbon pollution annually. The project delivers power under long-term, 20-year fixed-price power purchase agreements with utilities in both states. Revolution Wind has invested over $200 million in port infrastructure improvements at ProvPort, Quonset, and State Pier, creating over 2,000 direct jobs including 1,000+ union construction positions. The company has partnered with regional educational institutions, labor unions, and workforce development organizations to build a skilled local workforce.
