RunFaster4EU is a European research and development consortium uniting 17 partners from 10 countries, including large enterprises, SMEs, universities, and research institutions. The project demonstrates the sustainability and replicability of cultivating oil crops on marginal lands to avoid competition with food and feed production. Through advanced biorefinery processes at flagship plants in Porto Torres and Crescentino, Italy, the project converts vegetable oils and residual biomass into high-value bio-based products including bio-building blocks, cosmetic formulations, bio-stimulants, feed ingredients, herbicides, dielectric fluids, and bioplastics. The initiative prioritizes soil health, carbon sequestration, and involves farmers in validating innovative agronomic practices across Italy and Serbia.
