Founded in 2006, SAARC Energy Centre is a renewable energy company headquartered in Islamabad, Pakistan specializing in Hydro, Solar, Wind.
The SAARC Energy Centre (SEC), based in Islamabad, is a regional institution created under the 2005 Dhaka Declaration to support energy cooperation across South Asia. It acts as a platform for officials, experts, academia, environmentalists and NGOs, coordinating and facilitating SAARC energy programmes in hydropower, renewable and alternative energy, technology transfer, energy trade, and energy conservation and efficiency. It provides technical input to the SAARC Working Group on Energy and runs studies, webinars, capacity-building workshops and data initiatives such as cross-border electricity trade and electricity access mapping.
