About
Founded in 2021, SEEDS is a ngo headquartered in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark specializing in Solar, Geothermal, Energy Storage.
SEEDS (Cost-effective and replicable Renewable Energy Sources integrated electrified heating and cooling systems for improved energy efficiency and demand response) is a multidisciplinary European research initiative co-funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe. The project unites researchers, technology providers, SMEs, utilities, and municipalities to accelerate the electrification of thermal systems in buildings—one of Europe's largest energy and emissions challenges. SEEDS demonstrates innovative renewable-based heating and cooling solutions integrated with energy-efficient renovations and smart HVAC systems across six real-world pilot sites in Denmark, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, and Ukraine. These pilots span different climate zones and construction markets. The project focuses on reducing thermal energy demand, enabling energy flexibility to increase renewable energy share, enhancing grid stability, and lowering life cycle environmental impact. SEEDS engages stakeholders throughout the value chain—from technology providers and building owners to cities and end users—ensuring solutions are practical, replicable, and market-ready.
