Founded in 2021, Smart2B Project is a ngo specializing in Energy Storage.

Smart2B is a European Commission-funded project under Horizon 2020 (grant agreement No. 101023666) that ran from 2021 to August 31, 2024. The project develops comprehensive smart building solutions comprising devices, platforms, and services to enable buildings to interact in real-time with occupants and the electricity grid. The initiative focuses on retrofitting existing building stock across five demonstrator sites in different European climate zones (Mediterranean, central, and northern Europe) and involves 11 partner institutions from 8 EU countries. The project targets energy efficiency improvements, local flexibility services, demand-response capabilities, and citizen engagement through energy communities, with particular emphasis on vulnerable populations including children, youth, and elderly residents. Key technical components include IoT integration, predictive maintenance, air quality assessment, building load scheduling, and holistic building management services.
