SmartPV

SmartPV is a renewable energy company headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus specializing in Solar.

SmartPV is a LIFE Programme co-financed project run by the Photovoltaic Technology Laboratory and FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy of the University of Cyprus. It studies smart net metering for promoting photovoltaic systems and integrating them cost-efficiently into the electricity grid in Cyprus. The project examines consumer billing options, consumption behaviour, and the cost and benefit implications for network operators, with the aim of a win-win outcome for consumers and utilities. It ran from July 2013 to March 2017 with a budget of EUR 1,219,838, of which EUR 568,474 was co-financed by the LIFE Programme. Activities included pilot demonstrations, smart meter trials, prosumer focus groups and dissemination at the SAVENERGY exhibition.
