Founded in 1991, Society for the Protection of Prespa is a ngo headquartered in Agios Germanos and Laimos, Greece with approximately 50-200 employees.

Society for the Protection of Prespa is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation active for over 30 years. Based in the villages of Agios Germanos and Laimos in the heart of the Prespa lakes region shared by Greece, Albania and North Macedonia, the organisation works to protect the globally important Prespa lakes and their remarkable environment, wildlife and landscape together with its cultural heritage. The organisation brings together 8 Greek environmental organisations as members, as well as 2 international permanent observers, to advocate for Prespa's natural diversity. Their work includes research and conservation of endangered species such as pelicans and waterbirds, wetland and protected area management, environmental interpretation, policy advocacy, and community engagement.
