Founded in 2023, Soester Energie is a co-op headquartered in Soest, Netherlands specializing in Solar, Energy Storage.

Soester Energie is a local Dutch energy cooperative (coöperatie) established in 2023 that enables residents and businesses in the municipality of Soest to collectively generate and share renewable energy. The cooperative operates three primary initiatives: (1) Warmte uit Vijvers (Heat from Ponds), a district heating system extracting thermal energy from local ponds and storing it in underground heat batteries to provide heating and cooling to homes; (2) solar generation projects where residents can invest in rooftop solar panels; and (3) green roof and garden initiatives. The cooperative functions on a non-profit basis with participatory governance, where members can invest from €100 upwards and receive variable profit distributions based on actual energy production. All members have voting rights in the General Assembly. The organization emphasizes affordability, local control, and environmental sustainability while building community engagement around energy transition.
